| Bowie Partners serves as a support agency for
Bowie High School, its students, educators and the PTSA. Officially known as
Bowie Partners in Education (BPIE), its charter and framework are setup by
AISD’s organization called
Austin Partners in Education (APIE). Bowie Partners’
primary concern is to establish and foster relationships between the Bowie High
School community and local businesses that have an interest in supporting the
school and its wide ranging functions. Local businesses can choose to provide
support at many levels. Donations-in-kind, mentoring, and monetary support
provide for numerous programs available at Bowie High School – far beyond the
conventional curriculum. Business partners can choose to host or sponsor a
preplanned event or they can elect to become a primary sponsor of one of the numerous
Booster Clubs or sports teams at the school. Another possibility is for a BPIE
Partner to provide donations-in-kind that can be used throughout the year at a
variety of functions and events. Since it is a partnership, Bowie Partners offers
numerous ways to provide each of its business asssociates with unique and
worthwhile promotion for its Partner businesses. For example, each of the Partners
is listed in the Bowie Bulletin, a quarterly newsletter that is read by every
family enrolled at the school. Similar listings are in the Student Directory,
the student newspaper, the school website, and the PTSA website. In addition,
the Bowie Partners website,
www.bowiepartners.org provides full color, detailed advertising, as well as
links back to the business partner’s website and email. A special, high
visibility window or door decal identifies the partner business as a BPIE
member. Opportunities are also available for signage at the school, ad space in
the school’s various publications, and honorable mentions on the High School’s
electronic marquis.
Without the support of its many Partners, Bowie
High School and the PTSA would be unable to provide many of the extracurricular,
program enhancing functions and activities that go beyond the contemporary
